With a few basic ingredients including baking soda, lemons, lemon juice, salt and vinegar, you may clean your kitchen without the use of chemicals. Read on to find out how to green clean your kitchen in five simple steps.

Sink Drain

The first step in cleaning your kitchen is to clean your sink drain. Start out by pouring boiling water down your drain. After, dump about a 1/4 of a cup of baking soda, 1/2 cup of vinegar and 1/2 cup of salt down the drain. Let this mixture sit in the drain for about 30 minutes. While you wait, boil some more water. After the allotted time has passed, dump the boiling water down the drain. You should repeat this process once a week to keep your drain clean and unclogged.

Oven and Stovetop

To clean the oven, sprinkle about 1/4 of an inch of baking soda over the bottom of the oven. Fill a spray bottle with water and spray your inch of baking soda sparingly over a four hour period, keeping the baking soda moist. Let the baking soda sit over night. In the morning, scrape the baking soda off with a sponge. To clean your stovetops, start out by sprinkling them with salt. Let the salt sit for about thirty minutes. After, wipe them away with a damp sponge. Then, mix water with baking soda in a spray bottle and spray your countertops. After, clean them off using a toothbrush. Finally, wipe away any residue with a wet cloth. These processes should be done twice a week.

Microwave

Finally, to get rid of grease in your microwave, start out by adding 1/4 cup and 1 cup of water in a microwaveable cup. After, boil the mixture in your microwave for three minutes. Then, let the cup sit for ten minutes. This will loosen up the grease. Using a moist cloth, wipe away at the microwave. After, heat a bowl of water with lemon slices for one minute to neutralize any odors.

Pots and Pans

To get rid of grease, create a mixture of vinegar and water in a spray bottle and spray all of your pots and pans with this mixture. After, wipe them away with a cloth. Next, sprinkle salt to all of your pots and pans and wait ten minutes. After, sprinkle baking soda and let it sit for another ten minutes. Finally, run rinse all your pots and pans, and wipe away the baking soda with a clean sponge.

Countertops

You should clean your countertops with vinegar and water from a spray bottle on a daily basis, wiping away at the mixture with a cloth.
